YELLOWBELLY HAMLET (Hypoplectrus aberrans)

This one was captioned somewhere in the Palancar reef system, between cuevones and the horse shoe I think, not very common neither but I have seen around 6 of them in about 4 different sites, even after Wilma, sometimes the upper part is bright blue, and sometimes a bit darker, but still have the pretty blue markins on it's face, The reason why we can find only one member of it's specie (I am not a biologist, but this is what I think) and not any others is maybe because the way the reproduce, they start a dance going around to near the surface one looking at the others tail without even touching each other going round and around in circles, the female realeases the eggs and the male fertilize them, then the eggs float along with the current and when the larvae is big enough and in need to settle down, they do it in the first reef they can find, so I wonder how long a larvae can float before they find the need for a place they can call home. I know this information because I read it from the book "Fish behaviour" of the REEF organization, check it out, You will love reading it.
