These are some of the most uncommon fish in Cozumel, some you may know, but please put attention to them because they are not in every reef, some can be confuse with other species, but believe me after 4 years of doing survays, I know they are not that common.
This is an effort to show you what not many dive masters will be able to show you.

Rough Back Batfish
This is a little tiny batfish about 2 inches is named "Rough Back" (Ogcocephalus parvus), they do grow a bit bigger up to four inches, and it may not be that uncommon, it's just that usually lives on the sand bar next to reefs, this little one was about 2 inches, notice that is on my magnify glass, that was to show you it's size, I have seen another one a bit bigger, about 4 inches, but actually in 20 years guiding, have seen only three of them because we never dive the sand bars, and when we do to look for these kind of rareties, people complains, but there is a lot of marine life that you only find it on the sand bars or algae beds.
